Baby Shower

I had my first baby shower tonight that was given by the girls are work.  They threw one for Teramie and I since we are just a few weeks from each other. I got a lot of great gifts and it just makes having a baby seem more real.

Gifts below: Cosco foldable highchair, blankets and burp cloths, diapers, baby wash and lotion, thermometer, washcloths, wet wipes, mesh fresh food feeder, picture frame, safety plug covers, 3 wheeler made out of diapers, bib, bottle, socks, swaddling blankets, rattle, sippy cup, 'survival kit' with wet wipes, gas drops, baby tylenol, tissue, bib, pacifier, and chocolate, bath toys, and outfits.

32 Weeks

The baby is still the size of a squash weighing between 2.5 and 3.8 pounds and is 15 to 17 inches in length.

How far along: 32 weeks, 8 weeks to go!
Sickness: None!  So happy I have not gotten the flu or a nasty cold with what has been going around (knock on wood)!
Maternity Clothes: Yes and No.  In this picture yes.  I got this dress at GAP.  I really like it although I don't think it looks very flattering in this picture.  I think it makes me look a little large...Nick says I look pregnant which is just a nice way of saying "yes, you're fat".
Stretch Marks: Still the faint white lines on my back.
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well.  I have noticed it is getting harder to switch sides in the middle of the night.
Movement: I still feel a few kicks but mainly it is him moving around and still moving up in to my ribs.  I will be sitting at work or at home and my ribs will just ache.  I love it though and think it is so neat!
Food Cravings: Apples, yogurt, cereal, pasta, chips and salsa...and sometimes tuna fish sandwiches.  Kneaders has a good one I like with hazelnut bread.
Symptoms: Still the occasional sciatic pain and every once in awhile I feel like my food is sitting up in my chest and if I was to lean over it would just all come right back up.

Nick and I are taking a hypnobirthing class at the hospital.  Nick thinks its a little weird and that I am crazy for even having the slightest thought of going natural.  I think it is a little weird too but am willing to try ANYTHING that will help me relax and not FREAK OUT!  I have learned a few good tips so it hasn't been a total waste.  Next week we are getting the tour of the hospital.  We also took an infant safety class where we learned Infant CPR and what to do if your child is choking.

30 and 31 Weeks

Baby is still the size of a SQUASH weighing between 2.5-3.8 pounds and is anywhere from 15-17 inches in length.

I didn't get a picture of me at 30 weeks because that week just FLEW by.  We were still putting the house back together after the wood floors, we started our hypnobirthing class, it was my Dad's birthday, and then I had my breastfeeding class.  Every night we had something and just never got around to taking a picture.  So weeks 30 and 31 are just going to have to be combined.

How far along: 30 and 31 Weeks
Sickness: None
Maternity Clothes: Yes and No.  The pants in the picture are maternity (courtesy of Laura).  Thank goodness for all the cardigans and open sweaters I have because they have saved me!
Stretch Marks: Still some faint lines on my sides.
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well.  It is a little awkward when I want to change sides or get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
Movement: I feel the baby move here and there throughout the day.  He doesn't constantly move but every once in awhile I will feel a small kick or him up in my ribs!
Food Cravings: Nothing really sounds good lately.  I still eat mainly apples and greek yogurt for lunch.  Dinner is a chore because nothing sounds good, $5 pizza from Little Caesar's has become a lifesaver on the weekends.
Symptoms: Still the occasional sciatic pain although this week I haven't had any.  Woo hoo!

The crib has been ordered!  I was going to go with a white crib but saw this one and just loved it!  The color blends a little with the color of our walls so now I am on the hunt for picking an accent color.  My thoughts are a blue / gray color.

29 Weeks

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have graduated to a new food item!  Weeks 29-32 compare the baby to the size of a squash weighing 2.5-3.8 pounds and being 15-17 inches in length.

How far along: 29 weeks
Sickness: None that is pregnancy related.  I am a little stuffed up here and there but nothing to complain about.
Maternity Clothes: Yes and No.  I got some maternity tops this past weekend at GAP (sweater in picture included).
Stretch Marks: Still the little white lines on my sides.
Sleep: Pretty good.  I started going back to the gym MWF mornings after basically a 2 week break from the holidays and I have noticed the past two nights I have slept SO GOOD!
Movement: Feeling the baby move quite a bit in the morning and evening.  He has made his way to my ribs.  As I am typing I feel a lot of pressure on my right rib.
Food Cravings: Nothing healthy it seems!
Symptoms: Still the occasional sciatic pain if I have been sitting for awhile or cleaning the house.  I noticed last week and forgot to document it but if I eat too late in the evening my food sits up high and it's a little uncomfortable.  I can't quite figure out if I have experienced heart burn because the feeling doesn't necessarily BURN, just uncomfortable like if I bend over my food could come right back out.

Holiday News: Nick and I went down to SLC for two nights to relax and hang out.  We had dinner at the Spaghetti Factory (one of Nick's favorites) and went to a movie (This Is 40).  New Year's Eve Day I did a little shopping at City Creek and met up with my mom for lunch while Nick went and hung out with his friend Grant.  That night Nick wasn't feeling too well so we had a quick dinner at the Blue Iguana and then went back to the hotel and got in bed and rented a movie (End of Watch).  We did manage to stay up until midnight and could see the fireworks from our hotel window which was nice.  We drove home New Year's Day after a quick visit with my mom's side of the family to start taking down all our decorations because my brother-in-law Tyler was installing wood floors the next day.
